Final Week Update – kick-off is this weekend!

Dear Kotara South Tigers,

I trust you are all feeling primed and excited for kick off day this weekend!

A few points to help with some of the questions you may have at this stage:
:
1. We will let you know as soon as the draw is available. We anticipate this will be midweek. Your team may be required at very short notice to do set up or duty officer this weekend. Please all be prepared for this.

2. From this Wednesday 1st July we are able to resume normal contact at training with no limit on numbers of people in a group. Existing hygiene measures must be followed.

3. There will no longer be a need to record attendance at training or on game BUT we do require all volunteers within our club to register on PlayFootball. This is the agreement between NNSWF and the NSW Government to assist with contact tracing requirements. Essentially all club members should register as a volunteer as you will be expected to help in some capacity as a duty officer, on timing or on set up. Duty officer training has been well attended and there is one session left. Each team must have at least 2 representatives attend the online training.

4. We anticipate that games will start to kick off at 8:30am at each of our grounds.

5. Each ground and age grouping are likely to be:

NESBITT PARK:
– Saturday: U6-7 Miniroos, U10-11 Miniroos, Comp mixed teams
– Sunday: Comp Girl’s and Women’s teams

LUGAR PARK:
– Saturday: Comp mixed and senior teams
– Sunday: Comp Girl’s and Women’s teams

KOTARA PARK:
– Saturday: U8-9 Miniroos

6. I urge everyone in the club, particularly all coaches and managers, to thoroughly review the NNSWF Return to Play Portal (this is linked in “documents” in TeamApp). There are guidelines and very helpful FAQs. We are expecting that all club members will abide by these guidelines. By doing so we will set a great example of how to enjoy football safely and sustainably.

7. Please ensure that if you are unwell with any symptoms of illness that you do not attend any training or games but remain at home until you are well. If you have symptoms that might be due to Covid-19 please contact your doctor or attend a testing centre. These include fever, sore throat, cough, as per NSW Health Guidelines.

8. It is extremely important that physical distancing and hygiene guidelines are followed to reduce the risk of spread if Covid-19 does occur in our community. (Note that people who live in the same household are not required to physically distance from each other)

9. There is no limit on the number of spectators at games, as long as there is 4 square metres available per person, and 1.5m physical distancing is followed.

10. Point 10 is just a huge thank you to everyone in our club. Your patience, positivity and adaptability have been fantastic. There will be a need for flexibility and there may well be some teething issues as we start the season. We would love to hear from you about anything that you can see that could be done better as we work things out this season.

Thanks all, another update will be provided once the draw comes out,

Damien Whittaker
